Cabins and Fishing and Bears. Oh My! (JK there were no bears. phew.)

Okay okay.. I'm finally posting our family vacation pictures!! Well some of them. Don't get too excited. I keep getting asked if I'm ever going to post them and the answer is YES but free time is extremely rare in my life at this point ; ) BUT here we are with the first installment. Better late than never.

First of all, let me just say that our official stance on having 3 kids is that it is hard. Not "everyday i want to rip my hair out" kind of hard. But "this is the hardest i've ever worked in my life" kind of hard. But it's also the most wonderful our life has ever been. So there's that. :)

All of that to say, that taking a family trip with a 3.5 year old, a 1.5 year old and a wee baby would not be possible without our amazing awesome selfless families!!!! Yay to them! We went on TWO family trips. Note that I'm not calling them vacations.. those are different and involve relaxing, suntanning, lots of reading and lots of sleep. These were family trips, which are wonderful in different ways.

I'm going to go backwards and start with the second part of our trip.. New Germany State Park!!

Let's start with a super fun FLASHBACK to a Harbin Vacation of Old... i'm SO bummed we didnt recreate this! Next time.

Justin's family vacationed at New Germany when all the kids were little and everyone was so excited to go back so many years later! Our first part of the week was spent in Bethany Beach, and we had the ambitious idea to drive from Bethany to our house, check the garden, stretch our legs, and then make the drive to Western MD. Well all I can say is that we survived. I can't even remember how many times we stopped or how long it took. It's all a blur. I DO remember very vividly that we gave Max dramamine early in the day hoping he'd fall asleep. We left Bethany at 9am and he fell asleep around 7pm, about 10 minutes away from New Germany. So that was magical.

Our home for 4 days!

Max reading in the quite morning hours while Justin made us breakfast. One of Justin's many jobs was to have my coffee ready each morning so that I could function. He's a good hubby!

We went hiking the first morning there. The weather was so amazing!

Beach Time

It was so fun for us to spend 4 days with family. Jackson and Max (and Abigail) finally got to spend quality time with Aimee, Rachel and Becka and they were big hits with the kids :)

I did soo much walking that week and I loved it. This was one especially quiet morning at the lake.

Abigail stole some Auntie Meaghan snuggles while Ginger watched for bears.

It was so peaceful that Jack fell asleep...  cutie pie.

Every evening we'd gather to hang out for awhile and then enjoy dinner together. Followed by s'mores, selfies, games, drinking, home movies... you get the idea : )

Pappy and his crew :)

Max waiting "patiently" for S'MORES!!

Playtime with Aunt Aimee before dinner one night!

Gotta go to the gun range... there's no where else to go! haha ; )

The athletic people went paddleboarding

Max's first paddle boat ride!

This phone booth was a big hit. I will show this to Max in 20 years when no one remembers what a phone booth is.

My sweet hubby and sweet baby. Aww.

One of my favorite activities was our trip to Swallow Falls!!

Abigail was the perfect baby and slept for hours on our hike!

Can you find them?

I love this pic! Jackson always has this face in our family pics. It's his thing.
