Future Olympic Swimmer? Probably..

Max had his swimming debut yesterday (not counting the bathtub!)... I kept telling him all day that he would get to swim in a pool later so I think he was ready : )

5 Months Old

The title of our last post ("4 Months") was very misleading. Max is already 5 months old as of a few days ago.. how did that happen?! Justin and I love to reminisce about Max's first 6 weeks when we were both home with him. Every evening he would snuggle on one of us and sleep while we watched Friday Night Lights. We watched so many episodes and would point out to each other over and over again how cute Max looked all curled up on us asleep. The Friday Night Lights theme song still tugs at my heart cause it makes me think of those wonderful nights! 

And now he is 5 months old and acting like such a big boy : ) Thank goodness we can still catch a snuggle once in awhile, but at this point Max is more interested in figuring out life around him. 

Eating is an all time favorite activity. Oatmeal, avocado, zucchini, squash, carrots, sweet potatoes... he loves everything that we put in his mouth. When he sees his baby spoon coming his mouth is wide open and closes just enough to swallow the food before opening it wide again for the next bite. At dinner time, max's mealtime usually ends in tears because the food is all gone!

He has also graduated out of his baby tub.. he is just too big! When his feet started 

to stick out the end, we put him in the big tub and he thought it was all very exciting.

Max's other big news is that he loves to sit up (not to be confused with "spit up" which he also loves to do)! There is a lot of tipping over involved  but he never takes his eye off the toy that he is going for and despite a few bonks on the head by his big plastic Bee, he constantly wants to be sitting up. 

Max also loves to read/chew/spit up on books

But I'm sure that deep down in his heart, this is his 

absolute favorite activity- snuggling with Mommy or Daddy ; )

 

4 Months Old

Max had his 4 month appt a couple of weeks ago and he is as healthy as can be! He is still in the 99th percentile for height but has dropped to the 75th percentile for weight. He must be burning lots of calories rolling around on the ground and trying to get to his toys! He is so fun to watch play on the floor- he is so determined to move around but is trying to figure out how to do it. Lots of times this means pushing with his legs and scooting on his face across the blanket or rolling onto his stomach over and over again. He has mastered grabbing toys (or anything else in his reach) and getting it to his mouth. Max also loves his jumparoo seat that our friend Julie is letting him borrow and is so mesmerized by all the toys and colors on it. He swings his head back and forth for awhile- not being able to decide what to look at first. : ) And while he is doing all of this he is anything but quiet! He loves to make noises, whether its yelling to get our attention, squealing, blowing raspberries (18 & 20 week pics) or "singing" (16 week pic).

I can't believe we are parents!

Today was Justins first Fathers Day.. so much fun! I remember telling him at the Avenue in White Marsh on June 20th of last year that I was pregnant. We were going to dinner at Red Brick Station on the day before our 3rd anniversary because that was where we had our rehearsal dinner years before. We sat in the courtyard and I gave him an early anniversary present- it was a bib that said "I love daddy". He opened it and looked a little confused and I said "im pregnant" and started laughing. He was shocked and we both laughed and were so happy. We spent most of dinner that night talking about how unbelievable it was that we were going to have a baby. And now Max is here and he is more amazing then we ever dreamed and Justin got to celebrate his first fathers day ever : )

 I love the happiness on Max's face! He loves when Justin is silly with him : )

Mothers Day Part 2

Sunday (Mothers Day) was the best day ever! Justin got up with Max in the morning and I slept in until 7. It was glorious ; ) I took Max for a walk and he gave me a wonderful mothers day gift- a 4 hour nap! He slept in his stroller on the front porch.. he loves sleeping outside in the fresh air. I got to take a nice relaxing shower and chat with Justin while he made lunch.

Mother Day Part 1

My first Mothers Day! We celebrated all weekend- with Justins family on Saturday and mine on Sunday. Beautiful weather all weekend... we got to eat outside and justin made a scrumptious meal of hamburgers stuff with bacon and cheese.. to die for.

More Weekly Pics!

We're baaaack!!

Oopsies its been way too long since we shared pics of maxwell! Our last post was when Max was 10 weeks old..eek. A lot has happened since then. Max is now 16 weeks old and becoming a little man : )  Basically we love our life. Max is snuggling on my lap as I write this. Sometimes we still look at him and say- I can't believe he is ours. He couldn't be more fun and amazing. The pediatrician said that Max is spoiling us and we shouldn't think other babies are this easy! We'll see how long this lasts : )

Here are some random updates:

*Max is still sleeping like a champ, 10-11 hrs each night. When he is awake he is so fun and showing off his personality.

*He loves to smile, laugh, eat his hands, drool, spit up, smile, drool, spit up, smile, eat his hands... you get the idea. He loves to smile and laugh at his mommy and daddy which we couldn't love more!
*Naps during the day are sometimes a challenge but I cant complain.. I'll take sleeping through the night over long naps during the day.

*We switched over to cloth diapers last month and looove them. They are as great as we thought they would be. yaay. And sometimes (most of the time) I might color coordinate his diaper to his outfit. Dont judge.

*Max went to church for the first time this past Sunday and he was so good!

* We have his 4 month dr appt next week. A couple of weeks ago he weighed 16.5 lbs so i'm sure he'll be way more that than by our appt!

Max is 10 Weeks Old!

Everyone always says "they grow up so fast".. how true!!

Max is already 10 weeks old and has changed so much. He now weighs over 15lbs, has grown over 2 inches in length, loves to eat and currently sleeps 8-9 hrs each night (We know.. we're so lucky!) His personality is really coming out and he loves to smile and "talk" to his mommy and daddy. He is getting to be such a big boy! Justin and I are so glad that we decided to take a picture of him each week on his weekly "birthday". Enjoy!!
