35 weeks and counting!

I haven't posted Max's weekly pics in awhile but we are still going strong! Here are weeks 30-35.. hard to believe in a few weeks he will be 9 months old. He has two bottom teeth that he is currently obsessed with.. always running his tongue over them and sucking on them. It's obviously adorable. He is movin and groovin. He is making his way around the house exploring every cabinet, window sill and corner. In related news, due to his exhaustive exploration efforts and his starting each day at 5:30am now, he has started taking 3 naps most days. I'm having a mini panic attack about day light savings this weekend.. Max waking up at 4:30am? I dont want to talk about it. We have started our efforts to move his bed time back slowly in hopes that he will get up a few minutes later each day. In a perfect world. : )

This post is brought to you courtesy of Hurricane Sandy

Here comes Hurricane Sandy! Justin, Max and I are all dry and cozy inside, waiting for the worst of the storm to arrive. As much as I am dreading losing power with a 8 month old (i'm picturing nap time and bedtime without a sound machine- eek!), we are really loving today so far. Justin and I are both off work, so we have an unexpected extra day with Max woohoo!! We both said this morning how nice it is to be forced to not go anywhere (for a short period of time). If this were a normal Saturday we would have found several activities to do and therefore probably have made our day hectic as usual.

So far my Sandy experience has included a clean house, sleeping in (absolutely glorious), and a pumpkin spice latte.. all thanks to my dreamy husband. We are stocked and ready for a power outage but hoping against it! Max loves standing at the door or window and squealing at the rain and swaying trees. His current project is assisting me in writing this blog.. super helpful!!

Before we started worrying about all this rain and wind, we got to spend a GORGEOUS weekend at the beach with Justins Dad, Gran and sister Meaghan! Justin and Ed fished while the ladies relaxed, played with Max, did some shopping and took walks. We spent Happy Hour on the pier over looking the water one evening.

On our last day, Justin and I headed to Bethany Beach with Max. We had lunch at Grottos Pizza (i know.. yumm!) and then hung out on the beach for awhile. Max liked the ocean when he was almost 6 months old during our week long trip to Bethany and he still loves it at 8 months! He got pretty excited about the waves and I love the pictures that we took. I wish you could hear his happy squeal through the pictures.. its the best : )

The first little boy in my life.. Garon! : )

I can't even put into words how great it is that Garon got to move into his own place this past weekend! So here are some pictures to help tell the story. We all worked hard getting it ready and its wonderful!

We started getting things ready a couple of weeks ago.
Justin built things while Garon, Mom and I painted.
Garon is basically a professional painter.

Sidebar: For years, Garon has spent a weekend with us almost every month. We always look forward to it. Garon is basically the funnest person ever so we always have a blast! Some of our favorites "Garon Weekends" included getting snowed in together (more than once), playing games in front of the fire, fishing with Justin, riding the Duck Boat, building scarecrows, going to Six Flags, and of course making endless yummy dinners, breakfasts and treats! Garon will get to do lots of these fun activities in his new place, but we look forward to him still visiting us once in awhile for the weekend because we have a lot more fun ideas! : ) Here are some pics from our last Garon Weekend, two weeks before he moved into his new place.
Making YUMMY Pumpkin Sausage Pasta. BeJealous.

 Family Dinner!

Always. Silly.
Annual Fall Festival with Garon (and Max this year!). Blog readers- meet Charlie the Scarecrow.

Painting pumpkins, fresh apple cider, hay rides, beautiful weather= great day!

Max was a little apprehensive about the hayride..

Then it was time to get back to work on Garon's new place..

Max is super helpful

Garon loves his pictures.. so this is just the beginning of his photo gallery wall!

I know.. his room is so great!

October Update

I thought we were too busy to write on the blog before.. who was I kidding? NOW we are busy.. and i assume it will continue to increase! : ) Max is super mobile and busier then ever. We can't leave him alone in a room for more than 8 seconds because he pulls himself up on everything. Every. Thing. His normal state is wide eyed and frantically looking for his next activity (a perfect example is the bathtub pic below!). There can be 10 wonderful and stimulating toys on the floor, but he would rather pull himself up on the couch, window sill, vacuum cleaner, unstable piano bench, etc and just stand there and look around for his next adventure. Another favorite activity is to pull himself up, immediately turn around, and then let go (and therefore fall on his head). I think in his heart of hearts he believes that he can get across the room by standing up and leaning towards where he wants to go. We've had many diving saves from the across the room! As you can see... most pics now are of him standing up. Our weekly pics are quite the experience because it requires him to lay on his back.. oh no.. he's not having it.. I will post the new ones soon!

There is nothing cuter than overalls.

Climbing on Uncle G is a fav         Sitting in the tub is boring.. must stand up.

Playtime with Uncle G!                   Loves to look out the window

Waiting for Daddy to come home!     He escaped while I was stuffing his diaper!
