We made it to 6 weeks :)

Jackson is 6 weeks old! Our little big boy : )

I go back to work a week from yesterday boooo.... so I'm trying to enjoy every minute with Max and Jackson. I absolutely love love love my job but how can I not love being at home with my boys even more? We've been having so much fun and I feel like both of them grow and change almost every day.

Max's life still revolves around trucks, books and eating. I've found some great wooden trucks at the library which blows his mind and he will play independently with them for a long time. Everything deserves a ride in a construction truck so I know to look in his fleet when I'm missing something- remote control, toothbrush, Jackson's sucker, cooked carrots waiting for dinner time, trash, and birthday candles. And many more. Inspired by my Mom's genius, we set up a huge tray with uncooked rice in it for Max to bulldoze, dump and excavate. Hours of entertainment. HOURS. He is very creative.

Max the Builder

In between the ridiculous cold and snow, we had a few days that were nice enough to go outside- Hallelujah.
Max got right to work preparing the yard for spring.

Baby Snuggles

Max is quite attentive to Jackson. He will often lay down beside him and tell him "hi", put blankets on him and try to shove a sucker in his mouth (even if he's not crying). Jackson hardly ever gets to lay on his playmat by himself. Big brother Max is always there to show him how its done.

Max has been a great helper from the beginning, especially with diaper changes. He pulls up a chair, gets the diaper ready by opening up the tabs and sings "EIEIO" at the top of his lungs into Jackson's face.. usually while Jackson is crying. Its magical. This particular time, we finish and I expect Max to jump down and follow me onto the next activity as usual, but I turn around to find he had climbed up onto the changing station. Magical. : )

Just about every other day we take a drive to the library drive thru and pick up new books, toys, dvds, etc. Most are about trucks and Max likes to look at the best one as we drive home. Its become quite the fun little tradition : )

The best part of the day is when Daddy comes home!
There is a lot of squealing, running around and laughing- plus whatever Max does.

Dreaming of summer....

Life is back in full swing! Jackson is 5 weeks old.... time flies.. and Justin went back to work this week. I've been home with both boys and its not as crazy as I thought it would be. It doesn't get crazy until early evening, and then Justin gets home just in time : ) Both boys have been pretty cooperative (knock on wood) by napping during the same time every morning. Yippee.

To celebrate the last week of Justins paternty leave, and to get a much needed change of scenery for everyone, we headed to my parents beach house for all of last week. I was praying for sunshine and not freezing temperatures so we could at least venture out on to the beach. We got to do that a couple of times, plus Max visited many playgrounds, accompanied Justin fishing, went on lots of walks, and got to supervise some construction being done in downtown Bethany Beach. It was all very exciting. Plus we had the help and entertainment of Nana all week and Pop-Pop for the end of the week. Wonderful!

First day on the beach this season. Chilly but sunny!

Max and Justin went to look at the fire trucks sitting outside of the Bethany Beach Firestation and a nice fireman gave them a tour! Max got a fire hat and got to sit in the trucks : )

Cuteness : ) (them, not me)

There was lots of time to relax with Jackson... Justin needed it!
He's basically been on Max duty for 4 weeks which involves never really sitting down haha.

Time to find the playground!

Full contact playgrounding. Trucks included.

My turn to snuggle
Of course Max wanted to go in the water. Why were we not prepared for this? Max thought it was hysterical to run through the freezing puddles while Justin chased him away from the waves. Justins socks are still wet. and cold.

Pop-Pop joined us later in the week. He was only a little bit happy to see Jackson.

Hi cutie pie.

Thank you Nana for letting us stay here all week!

Life

Life. : )

Making Yonana. If you don't know what this is... you are missing out. It basically turns frozen banana (and other frozen fruits) into ice cream without any other ingredients. Its to die for.

Max is a pro.

Playground in the cold with Daddy and Pop-Pop. He always has to bring his Bob the Builder backpack from Uncle Matt with his little trucks inside. You never know when there is construction work that needs to be done.

I love this face!

Learned it from his Daddy!

On his way to the construction site....

Supervising

And then came Saturday which was so beautiful and sunny! Bare feet on the beach... heaven.

So much work to do...

Heavenly... can't wait to go back!
