Thanksgiving 2015

I know, I really outdid myself with the creative title for this blog post.

I LOVE Thanksgiving.
There is nothing better than a good excuse to spend the day with family, eat lots of yummy food and make the kiddies wear cute clothes :)

Sarah was in Namibia for work for awhile and got back to the states just in time for Thanksgiving hooray! We had a pre-Thanksgiving meal with her and Garon to fit in some extra hangout time. So many children to supervise:

Our first Thanksgiving meal was at my Moms at noon. Per tradition, I headed over early to help prepare the meal and I brought Abigail to help this year.

Some of you know that my Grandmother has not been doing well lately and we weren't sure whether she would be able to join us on Thanksgiving or not. BUT she's never one to miss a get together so here she is! I'm so THANKFUL that we took these great pictures with her. I'm also so grateful that my kids met her and spent a lot of time with her, and that we will have these pictures to show them!

Momma and Daughter

My heart. This sweet boy doesn't even understand how amazing he is.

My other sweet boy... a little more cautious. But likes to talk about "GG"...

There is nothing quite like the joy of realizing that you got to Nana's in time to help with the KitchenAid mixer and mashed potatoes. #winning

The men

Everyone loves when you take candids of them eating.

Per Hidey tradition, the Christmas tree goes up after Thanksgiving dinner and the decorating begins! Jack quickly established himself as the naughty one who would play with the plug all day.

So much to organize.

"Come on Jack. This looks easy to put on the tree!"

Thank goodness Pop Pop intervened.
I bet you a million dollars that she is saying "Cookie Cookie Cookie starts with C". I know her well.

The first ornament of Christmas! (Said like, "The first gift of Christmas!" from the Polar Express. If you dont know what I'm talking about then.. *sigh*.. i'll send Garon over.)

Two ornaments on the tree. Not allowed to touch the plug. Time to play.

These two were the master decorators. Seriously, it would not have gotten decorated if it weren't for Garon! He's the pro.

I wish I could say that this picture does not truly depict Sarah's level of participation in the christmas tree decorating but I don't like to lie during the Christmas season. #everyyear

Abigail's first ornament! Great decorating form: chew on it, then give it to Daddy to put on the tree.

Someone left an unsupervised ladder in the same house as Max. I'm just saying...

Garon's job every year- the star on the top of the tree!

Discussing the rules of not hurting Pop Pops tree, I assume.

What Sarah lacked in tree decorating passion, she made up for in entertaining the kiddos.

Does everyone else's Thanksgiving meal end like this?

After some very important naps, we headed to Thanksgiving Part 2 with the Harbins!! More yummy food!  We personally love having family get togethers at Jennie and Harold's because the basement is huge and quite kid friendly- lots of room to run and the food is up high ; )

The beautiful calm before the beautiful storm...

 Gorgeous home!

Auntie Meaghan snuggles! Always necessary.

Play time with Mommy. Great Aunt Jennie always has toys for the kiddies to play with :)

The crew gathers and waits for the food...

The kiddie table ; )

The REAL kiddie table!

Jennie was a great hostess! Thank you to Jennie and Harold for such a great meal.. AND for being so wonderful when Jackson pushed himself backwards into a glass shelf, shattering it and getting glass EVERYWHERE in the middle of the meal. He was just fine with a little scrape on his hand- he's quite resilient. AND after Jennie made sure everyone was eating, she also fed Abigail for us, so we could eat ourselves :)

Family is the best!
