Everyone stop growing up. Just stop it.

Jackson was born in a snowstorm, so it's only appropriate that we celebrated his 1st birthday during the only REAL snow of the year thus far! We planned a big family combined party for Jackson's 1st and Max's 3rd birthday and prepared food for 20 (and cake for 40..don't ask). As we got ready all morning, people began to drop out left and right due to the impending snow. Almost everyone else dropped out after trying to get down the road and then had to turn around due to the snow. My Mom was already out on the road that morning because she agreed to pick up the cakes AND the balloons before coming over early. What a great Nana! : ) Well after taking 2.5 hours to drive a couple of miles, she finally made it to our house, and Garon and my Dad were close behind.

Thankfully we had planned to tell Max about the birthday party when he got up from his nap, so he didn't know the difference! We decided to party anyway and make the best of it : )

Max got to put on a special "Woody" outfit and he sat in his chair as I explained that we were about to have a Toy Story and Farm birthday party for him and Jackson!

Surprise number #1: Nana was there!

Surprise #2: Daddy was clearly working on something exciting downstairs for Max, as he could hear the tools from upstairs. He waited patiently on the stairs until he was called to come see his special birthday surprise!

Justin and I decided at the very last minute to give Max his big birthday present that day instead of on his bday. We figured he'd enjoy playing with it while being snowed in. So Justin got out his tools and threw it together in mere minutes. Handyman!

Snow Snow Snow!

Here come all the party guests lol!
Justin shoveled the driveway and walkways several times that day.

Finally it was time to party!

Jackson's 52 weekly pictures. So much work and so worth it!

Where's the birthday boy?
"Here I am!"

Jackson and his beloved cow. It's everything he never knew he wanted for his birthday.

Best buddies.

Time for Max to come down for the birthday party!

Looking under the blanket for his surprise ; )

One benefit of having 3 guests instead of 20 is that it's a tiny bit more relaxing for the parents ; )

Checking out his new Thomas the Train table- happiness!

Max discovers his big Toy Story balloon...

.. and then back to work..

Yummy food and cakes!

Max loved his Woody cake and the tractor pulling the veggies and hummus!

Jack's first gift was from Uncle Garon... he loves it.. and Uncle Garon : )

Reading a new book with Uncle Garon. What a great Uncle!

Yummy food

 Proud Daddy

Cake for Max while Jack napped!

Someone loves the Happy Birthday song!

The Birthday Boy always has to cut the cake.

I helped Max make the pieces bigger ; )

It was such a crowded party that some guests had to eat on the floor!

Pregnant lady and her food.

Back to presents!!

Building a train track is serious business.

Too much fun!

Garon is such a great party guest- always excited about the presents!

Time for Jack's cake!

I love that Jack is the only one concerned about Max taking a bite out of the cake.

Talking about his cake.. he loved the pig, chicken and cow.

"Are you sure I'm allowed to eat this Mommy? It tastes like sugar and red food dye.."

He wasn't that thrilled with it anyway!

Eventually the party goers had to leave before they got snowed in.
Justin and Dad headed back out to shovel while Max supervised.

Thanks for a great party!!
